Have you ever dreamed of being woken up by a perfect steeping hot Cup’o’Joe?
Well, Josh Renouf, one intrepid Product Design graduate from Nottingham Trent University just made our dreams come true.
For his final project he created The Barisieur, a beautiful and clever, coffee alarm clock that uses the sound of the stainless steel ball bearings clanking against the glass carafe, along with the aroma of freshly brewed tea or coffee, to wake you. The coffee maker uses induction to heat water that percolates up through a tube and into a simple pour-over style coffee maker. You can even set the alarm to brew 5 to 30 mins before or after you want to wake up.
It comes complete with a drawer for sweeteners, as well as a light-tight space to keep your milk or cream cool.
It’s beautiful and absolutely ingenious–but sadly it isn’t for sale–yet.
The cost will range anywhere from £200-250 ($225 -280) and should be available sometime this year.
