Turn Your Paper Airplanes into Drones

Take flat piece of paper, fold it a few times, add a tiny device that connects to your iPhone and launch your very own drone.

It’s that simple according to a recent Wall Street Journal piece on PowerUp Toys, an Israeli toy company that has built a tiny “guidance and propulsion system for Origami.” The device connects to your phone via Bluetooth and you can control the direction and angle of flight by tipping your phone in various directions.

The product came to light after it raised $1.2 million on Kickstarter.

While it doesn’t offer the “spying” features like the AR Parrot Drones they offer plenty of fun for that nerd in your life–and for just $49.99 it’s yours.

Oh, and they don’t just make airplanes….they make boats too! For more on PowerUp and some of the really cool toys you can get, click here.
